Sound Redesign
December 22, 2024
I would like to express my appreciation to you for visiting my website and taking an interest in the sound design projects I have completed during my journey at Full Sail University. These projects reflect the skills and creativity I have cultivated with the guidance and support of the exceptional faculty. Your time here means a great deal to me, and I hope you find this showcase both engaging and inspiring.
One of my recent projects was to complete a game audio sound redesign demo reel for the game The Blacksmith. This project gave me the opportunity to highlight my ability to create immersive audio experiences through a variety of technical and creative approaches.
For this project, I used sound libraries to collect and curate the perfect audio elements needed to bring the game’s world to life. I then utilized Pro Tools to mix and manipulate these audio elements by cutting, layering, and fine-tuning them to achieve the desired results. My process involved using EQ and other effects to further shape the audio until it matched the tone and atmosphere of the game.
The project consisted of two main sections: the cinematic portion and the gameplay portion.
Cinematic Portion
In the cinematic portion, I focused on creating an immersive audio experience by:
-
Editing and designing sound effects.
-
Creating and implementing Foley sounds.
-
Developing background audio to set the scene.
-
Producing the final audio mix for a polished finish.
Gameplay Portion
For the gameplay portion, I brought the interactive elements of the game to life through:
-
Designing audio assets for in-game interactions.
-
Creating nonlinear mixing techniques to adapt audio dynamically.
-
Using Wwise to implement the audio into the gameplay environment.
Examples of Audio Work
Some of the specific audio elements I designed for this project include:
-
Clothing movement sounds.
-
Body impact effects during battles.
-
Character grunts and vocalizations when hit.
-
Ambient background audio to enhance immersion.
-
Stingers, such as crows and thunder, to punctuate key moments.
This project allowed me to demonstrate my technical skills in sound design and my creativity in crafting compelling audio experiences. I’m proud to share this work as part of my portfolio, and I’m excited about the opportunity to continue developing my expertise as a sound designer. Thank you for exploring my journey and taking the time to view my work!
